Neighbors working together to preserve and enhance our historic community
The North End Waterfront Residents Association (NEWRA) is a volunteer-led organization dedicated to representing the voices of residents and advocating for the long-term vitality of our neighborhood. From zoning and development to climate resilience, preservation, public safety, and open space, we work together to ensure that our community remains a livable and vibrant place for all who call it home.
We are proud stewards of one of Boston’s most iconic and historic waterfront communities — and we believe that an engaged, informed, and empowered community is key to preserving its unique and historic character while thoughtfully planning for the future.
Spotlight: North End Waterfront Climate Alliance
As part of our commitment to sustainability and coastal protection, NEWRA is a proud participant in the North End Waterfront Climate Alliance — a collaborative initiative of residents, engineering experts from Arup, and environmental leaders focused on creating innovative, community-informed solutions to address the impacts of climate change. From green infrastructure to shoreline protection, the Alliance is working to ensure the North End is prepared for rising seas, stronger storms, and a changing climate — all while enhancing the beauty and livability of our waterfront. Your input and involvement are vital as we shape a resilient future together.
